Chief Investment Officer and Senior Managing Director, Blackstone


Mr. Prakash A. Melwani is a Senior Managing Director at Blackstone and is based in New York. He is Chief Investment Officer of the Private Equity Group and chairs each of its Investment Committees.  Blackstone is the largest alternative investment firm in the world managing $400 billion for pension and sovereign wealth funds.  Mr. Melwani received a First Class Honors degree in Economics from Cambridge University, and an MBA with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar and a Loeb Rhodes Fellow.  Mr. Melwani serves as a Director of Ascend Learning, Crocs, RGIS Inventory Specialists and Blackstone strategic partner, Patria.  Mr. Melwani sits on the Board of St. Bernard’s School in New York City and The Akanksha Fund.  He serves on the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School, the President's Council on International Activities at Yale University and the Board of Cambridge in America.  He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Will Dick is a Vice President in GLG’s Private Equity practice, where he is responsible for managing strategic private equity relationships.  In this capacity, his team supports private equity sponsors across all phases of the deal lifecycle, including diligence consultations, deal advisors, surveys and in-depth consulting engagements.  Before joining GLG in 2012, he served as Director of Business Development at early-stage apparel company Ramblers Way, whose founder sold his first business, Tom's of Maine, to Colgate-Palmolive.  Prior to attending business school, he worked for 3 years in Deutsche Bank's Leveraged Finance Credit Risk group.  He has an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and a BA from Trinity College.
